pride and prejudice is my favorite novel, which impresses me for a long time. it describes a love story mainly between elisabeth, who i like the best, and a rich and proud man, darcy.
the story began with the arrival of a crowd of rich men who rent a house near the bennet. in a ball, elisabeth gave such a bad impression on darcys first pride that she refused darcys first proposal. darcy was so surprised by elisabeths refusal that he loved elisabeth more deeply. and elisabeths antipathy made darcy realize his shortings. he was not angry about elisabeths censure, but also he changed his previous proud attitude.

hermione is a muggle-born gryffindor student, and the best friend of harry potter and ron weasley. rowling states that she was born on 19 september and she was nearly twelve when she first attended hogwarts.she is an overachiever who excels academically, and is described by rowling as a "very logical, upright and good" adds that hermione's parents, two muggle dentists, are a bit bemused by their odd daughter but very proud of her all the same."they are well aware of the wizarding world and have visited diagon alley with her. though rowling has described the character of luna lovegood as the "anti-hermione" because they are so different, hermione's foil at hogwarts is pansy parkinson, a female bully based on real-life girls who teased the author during her school days.

in the novel, i learn that love, guardianship, friendship and family are the actual meaning for life. they are far more important than power, money, longevity and anything else. i am moving by the characters in the novel and the story itself. i've just fininshed reading the harry potter books for about the 5th time through, and they're just as magical and affecting as they have ever been. everything is in here: suspense, adventure, mystery, humour, danger. there's even some pretty satisfying paybacks. the characters are fantastic and fantastically realistic. there are bad people who turn out to be good guys and good people who turn out to be bad guys, just like life.
i think the thing i like best about these books is the message that it's okay to be different - to be not "normal." i would love for everyone in school to have hear that message. it would probably reduce the bullying around the school.
these books value real thoughts. much has been made of harry's rule breaking, but only once in the series so far does he break a rule for arbitrary personal gain. most of the time he makes a decision that what's right is more important than what's written. and you know what? life's like that sometimes. i think it's great that kids are getting an example of how to do what's right even when it involves breaking rules. the potter books also show that there are consequences for rule breaking. if not getting caught and getting a detention, then a spell going wrong and someone getting turned into a cat. this shows that when you make a decision to go against the rules that things may not go as you expected and you have to take responsibility for the outcome.

这本书从前一直是我很喜欢的一本书，但这次重读的时候却有了不一样的理解。
jane和rochester的感情，在我看来类似源氏和紫夫人的感情。两位少女都是在未经人事的时候来到男主人公的身边，在能追求爱情之前就被打上了属于他们的烙印，使得她们不可能再离开自己的主人。她们追求自己的爱情的可能性被提前抹杀了，而成为专属于这个男人的物品。
简爱真正第一次接触男性就是mr rochester，是他给她打开了世界的大门，按照mr rochester的说法他欣赏这个小姑娘，就把她的思想按照他喜欢的方式来培养；紫夫人也是在还是个小姑娘的时候就被源氏接来当作未来夫人培养。而且她们都是失去亲人之后接触到这两个男性的，本能让她们紧紧抓住眼前的人。
后来jane也只接触过自己的表兄这一个男性，紫夫人也是只被源氏和葵夫人的儿子看到过，两个人都像被人为地和其他男性隔开一般。因为她们也不可能再属于别人，只能作为被葬在抽屉里的珍宝而存在。
这两段关系都可以概括为：他在她一无所知的时候就给她打上了自己的烙印，她不可能再爱别人，不可能再和别人交心；她只能属于他了，没有他，她什么也不是。没来得及发展心智就被在心智的种子里打下了烙印，所以只能攀附着给她们烙印的人生长，长成他们喜爱的样子，需要的样子。
rivers则是另一个极端：为了事业牺牲爱情可以理解，挑选适合自己的妻子没有感情地结婚让人难以认可。而且jane住在沼泽居的这段经历我不觉得考验了她对罗切斯特的感情，rivers的求婚根本就没有诱惑，他对她也没有感情。jane也完全被rochester拴起来，根本没有被诱惑的可能啊。

in his story, guy de maupassant creatively reveals mathilde loisel's dreams of a wealthy, splendid lifestyle. mathilde's lifetime of misery and despair is solely caused by her own selfish acts. and her vain obsession all ended up ruining her life.
vanity is defined as excessive pride, especially in your appearance. in mathilde's case, the "excessive pride" in her looks and charm caused her to feel as if she deserved a higher ranking social class and the wealth. when she wore the necklace to the party, she wanted to give the illusion that she was something that she was not. vanity caused mathilde to fantasize about her life and surroundings-to live in a world of illusion, rather than reality.
her life was affected in a negative way because of her obsession with vanity. it is so sad that she honestly felt successful the night of the dinner, just because of her looks and her surroundings. what a distorted view of true happiness and fulfillment! neither an elegant dress or a beautiful piece of jewelry can make a person who they are. a caring and loving person has to be unselfish. mathilde loisel definitely lacked a caring and loving personality. the only person she proved to love was the person she wanted to be. had mathilde not spent so much of her life selfishly, she and mr. loisel could have had a lifetime of happiness. the most ironic and interesting piece of the story is the conclusion. their lives were ruined for no reason. had she told mrs. forrestier the truth about the lost necklace, she would have known that the necklace was just costume jewelry. actually, it’s a tragedy made by herself, for she was conquered by the evil of her heart.
in pursuit of vanity may lead to the loss of ourselves. accept who we are and to be to true to ourselves or else it will contribute to constant unhappiness. happiness or misfortune, it all depends.
